BOLTON STEAM MUSEUM

&  EMBSAY & BOLTON RAILWAY

Sunday 25 August  2024

Last visited this Bolton Steam Museum in 2015 and the Embsay & Bolton Railway is a new venue for us.

The Bolton Steam Museum have only 4 “in Steam” event days per year and is open from 10.00 on those days. The day of our visit is an “In Steam” day we will remain here until 13:10 so you will have plenty of time to view all the engines in steam – it is an awesome sight to see these industrial engines in steam and some them have upper walkways so that they can viewed from above. Refreshments and toilet facilities are available.

For those who have not been before, yes we do park in Morrisons Car Park, the coach will remain here until we are ready to depart at 13:15.

Please be back at the coach by 13:15 for our journey across to Embsay station  to be in time to board the 15:00 (3.00pm) train, which is the Cream Tea Train this is included in the price of the excursion – if anyone has any dietary requirements please let me know at the time of booking so that I can advise the railway accordingly.

This is our first excursion to this railway; the train journey will take a full hour and I have left some time for after the journey for people to have a wander around Embsay station to what is there.

Further information will be available on the day of visit.
